I was asked by the Burlington High School Volleyball Seniors to create their senior sports banners. They wanted a sleek and competitive look. Below is a mockup of the banners along with images of the final design the girls fell in love with.
Target Audience: The senior girls along with their families, classmates, competing teams, and fans attending games.
Problem Solving: I couldn’t be in Burlington to take the photos of the girls, so once the design was chosen, I had to communicate with the photographer, Abby of Photos and Films by Abigale, that I needed both a full body and a waist up of each of the girls. When choosing the design, I did not think about the fact that every girl would have different-sized legs (which is obvious looking back now). This meant for each girl’s poster, I had to go in and redraw the leg-wrapping lines. I kept each line on separate layers, as there were a couple times I could reuse the same line just by rotating the line and erasing certain areas.
Timeline: 3 hours to create the original design and 15-20 minutes per poster when replacing photos, information, and leg wraps.
